Switzerland is the 5th largest donor to the OSCE SALW and SCA portfolio in terms of monetary resources. Between 2014 and March 2020, this support amounted to €1,900,336. Besides their ability to provide funding, it is important to recognize their ability and interest in seconding human resources to many geographic areas and themes. In general, Switzerland’s International Development and Co-operation strategy is focused on promoting international co-operation while acknowledging the interdependence between peace, security and development.
There are many relevant agencies and channels of funding available for SALW/SCA projects. Each with conditionalities while pursuing a policy of arms control and disarmament that preserves national and international security while minimizing the level of arms held throughout the world.
